We get a Valentine’s Day serenade, meet at the Tuxedo Junction and then the Love Nest
Today was Valentine’s Day and also a Formal Night.
VALENTINE’S DAY SERENADE
A group of guests formed a Barber Shop-style singing group and offered to serenade your loved one outside their cabin in exchange for a minimum $5 donation to the crew fund.
We signed up for 1:30 pm and enjoyed their two songs outside our room.
Here is a short video
THE GAME OF LOVE
Kimberly hosted The Game of Love on the World Stage at 2 pm. This was a Newlywed Game-style game show featuring some of the couples amongst the crew on the Zuiderdam.
Here were the four couples:
Executive Chef Neil and Senior 3rd Engineer Officer Maroussia
Hotel GM Henk and Christel
Capt Frank and Alexandra
Beverage Manager Edmund & Dining Room Host Josephine
Here is a list of the questions:
– Where did you meet & when?
– What is your other half wearing?
3 of the guys revealed her underwear color
– Rate your first kiss from 1 to 10
– Ladies, when a gust of wind blows the towel off, which do you see Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, or the Lost City of Atlantis?
– Who said I Love You first?
– What is the first thing your guy touches in the morning?
– How would you describe your time between the sheets — fast & furious, slow & steady, broken down?
– Which of your guy’s friends do you wish would become a distant memory?
– Who would you say is your gal’s most annoying family member?
– If your guy was an animal, which animal would he be?
– Describe your marriage — the Notebook, Nightmare on Elm Street or Dumb & Dumber
– What would be her crime if your gal were to be arrested?
– If you had to describe your husband from the seven dwarfs, which one would he be — bonus to name all 7 dwarfs
– What is your gal’s signature dance move?
– What is your husband’s favorite condiment?
-What is the greatest accomplishment as a couple?
This video has a few highlights from the show.
TUXEDO JUNCTION
MAIN DINING ROOM
The entrance to the MDR was decorated with a giant teddy bear and a few red balloons.
Surf and Turf was the favorite on the menu this evening. Here is a copy.
JUDY CARMICHAEL
Judy Carmichael put on a fabulous performance. She played the piano, sang, and told a few funny jokes along the way. Grand World Voyage Band Drummer Jordan accompanied her.
THE LOVE NEST
Shore Excursion Manager Nyron took on the role of DJ Nyron in the Crow’s Nest, renamed the Love Nest for the evening. The party started at 8:30 and went on until past 11 pm.
Pete! I’m loving all your people pix of Z’Dam festivities .. esp. table 89 that

We miss you guys!!!
Are there now bars on Holland America ships that you have to pay extra to go in?
No. I don’t think that has ever been the case. The only space restricted to certain passengers is the Neptune Lounge and certain spots in the Spa. All bars are open to all at no extra charge.
