We enjoy a day at sea with a Taste of Tamarind in the evening

COFFEE CHAT

Executive Housekeeper Shiv was the guest at Coffee Chat.  He introduced all his principal assistants.  Shiv mentioned that due to the variation in crewmembers’ contract lengths it was impossible to handpick a world cruise housekeeping team as they had in the past.

Shiv was described by Kimberly as a man who “knows how to get things” like Red from the movie Shawshank Redemption

Shiv introduced his management team

A TASTE OF TAMARIND

Throughout the cruise, there will be about thirty special pop-up dinners in the Pinnacle Grill.   Here is the list

The first pop-up of the cruise, A Taste of Tamarind, was held this evening, and we joined our fellow Californians Alan and Sharon in the Pinnacle Grill.

Here is the menu

The food was all delicious – especially the steak which I highly recommend

WORLD STAGE

Dave and Dawn Meyer performed on the World Stage this evening.  Dave plays the Xylosynth, a combination of a Xylophone and a synthesizer, while Dawn dances alongside in darkness while twirling an illuminated cape and wands.

Dave performed a variety of songs including Teenage Wasteland, Saint Thomas and the Orange Blossom Special.

Nice that they are having Tamarind pop-up more than the twice they did last year. Menu looks lovely and I hope the food was delicious. The list of pop-up dinners looks wonderful. Glad they are doing something like that so there are choices other than the MDR occasionally. I would probably try each one except for Jellicle. Haven’t a clue what that would be! Please report on that one if you go on that night.

The Tamarind menu and food pictures look exactly like what we had on the Rotterdam in THE Tamarind Restaurant! We went 3 times in 2 weeks and everything on the menu is awesome! Dave and Dawn look familiar; perhaps they performed during last year’s WC.

Have you heard anything yet about special dinners being held at Canaletto? We were asked to move our March 6 Canaletto reservation to a different night due to a special event.

No, I haven’t heard anything. Sometimes they have those Special Seafood Lido dinners – it may be something like that. If you stop by the Canaletto, they may know

The Canelleto is closed for the Seafood Boil – or by reservation to a large group e.g. travel agent hosting a special dinner. My guess is Seafood Boil

How do you book these pop up dinners if you are not yet on board?

You can’t. You have to be onboard. They rarely sell out, especially on Grand Voyages.
