Feature 1 of 1

After we returned from our day in Puerto Vallarta, we found our new cruise schedule that was changed due to the troubles in the Red Sea

Rumors have been rampant that our schedule would change due to the increased danger of commercial shipping transiting the Red Sea.

Today, we learned our new schedule.   Everything is the same through Sri Lanka – then we will head south around Africa.

Everyone on the entire cruise will get $500 of OBC and 15% of our base fare as a Future Cruise Credit (FCC)

HERE is a copy of the official letter from Holland America President Gus Antorcha

HERE is a PDF copy of the new itinerary

HERE is a PDF copy of the new activities

We are starting to review the ports and see what private excursion might be possible.   We are also considering planning Safari, but most lodges are already sold out.

Thank you for showing us the revisions and the captains letter ..I’m sure everyone knew they would NOT be sailing in the Red Sea or anywhere around it..but one always hopes for the best. You will enjoy it all anyhow & have lots of fun. Thanks again–we do so enjoy hearing form you and what you are both doing.

I was originally signed up to do this cruise, but had to cancel when our grandson scheduled his wedding right in the middle of the cruise. Since my main objective was to visit India, the Middle East and especially, Petra, I am not so sad now, that I am missing the cruise. I know it is probably a big disappointment for you all too. But, I appreciate a company that always puts safety first.

On the 2018 WC, my husband and I did a one day safari tour to the Aquila Game Reserve through Viatour. We were picked up at the hotel at the Victoria and Albert Harbor, very near the ship’s dock. Although it was a little bit of a drive, it was beautiful scenery along the way, with vineyards, farms and even a very large township to view. We were also lucky to see a troop of baboons walking down the road. We were greeted at the reserve with a nice glass of wine and then enjoyed lunch at the lodge before beginning our afternoon drive through the game reserve. If I recall correctly, we saw all but the leopard of the big five. This might be an option for you if you cannot find an overland safari.

Thank you so much for the great details. Since we do not board until Singapore, we’ve not been privy to the activities schedule.

We are thinking of the one day Aquila Game Reserve trip via Viator, but if you hear of a better option for Cape Town, please let us know. (pgalland@bellsouth.net)

I will – a lot of the Safaris are already booked – not as many choices as otherwise

Do you expect HAL to offer safari options?

Yes – but their may be slim pickings with so little time left – we’ll see.
